Defending champion Russia’s Boris Shpilevsky’s foul at the last stage of the 2009 Tour of Hainan International Road Cycling Race handed victory to Italian Francisco Ventoso, capping off once of China’s most scenic professional cycling races.

Running from Nov. 11 to 19, the nine-stage race covered 1,400 kilometers through all the 18 cities and counties of the south China's province.

As usual, the Hainan Cycling Race has attracted many competitive teams and riders from all over the world, including China Marco Polo UCI Continental Cycling Team, 4 national teams from Denmark, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and China and Giant Asia Racing Team from Taiwan Province
