Hainan Airlines, ‘Best Airline China’
It is the third time that the airline has won the award since 2008. The Five-star rated airline also brought home the 'Staff Service Excellence China' award.
'We are proud and grateful to receive the awards. The awards only represent recognition for our past performance, and we still have a lot to learn from our prominent counterparts in future,' said Hainan Airlines President Chen Ming.
According to SKYTRAX, the sole directive of the awards is for real customers to make their own, honest choices as to the airlines they consider to be best, and worthy of an award, therefore earning the name the Passenger Choice Awards.
Hainan Airlines has also been the only airline awarded the prestigious SKYTRAX five-star rating in Mainland China since January this year.
'The Five-star honor is just one of the milestones in Hainan Airlines' history rather than the final success. As we maintain our best-in-class services for global passengers, we will continue to strive towards becoming a world-class airline,' said Mr. Chen.
Other airlines in the region that have been rated five-star include Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Kingfisher Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines.
SKYTRAX was founded in London in 1989 as a research and certification agency for the transportation industry, and evaluates more than 200 airlines every year in regards to service quality through their rigorous SKYTRAX Airline Quality Audit program. The program consists of over 600 assessment categories for both Onboard and Airport environments, and only awards the exclusive ranking to airlines of the highest quality performance.
The star rankings not only reflect the quality of product standards offered by the airline, such as cabin seating, meals and in-flight entertainment, but the customer experience as a whole. For an airline to gain this exceptional ranking it must prove consistency in quality performance, delivering a truly outstanding package.
'The future competition in the aviation market will become increasingly dependent on services rather than the size and market position of companies,' said SKYTRAX Chief Executive Officer Edward Plaisted.
Mr. Plaisted congratulated the company, saying that Hainan Airlines grew fast in the past year, maintaining consistently high standards in service and internationalization.
Established in 1989, Hainan Airlines has fast made a name for itself in the transport industry as one of the highest quality airlines both in Asia and the world. The airline has repeatedly won the award for the Best Chinese Airline, both in 2008 and 2010. At the 2010 World Airlines Awards in Hamburg the airline also received the Airline Staff Service Excellence China Award. It's recent success with the SKYTRAX awards has made it 'one of the most successful brands in the industry' as stated by HNA Group Chairman Mr. Chen Feng.
