China`s Boao set to become new Davos
Thousands of delegates are drawn to the scenic coastal city of Boao every year during the destination’s hosting of the annual Boao Asian Forum.
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference was established in 2001 as a platform for high-level interaction between political and business leaders from Asia and around the world.
The three-day event hosts more than 1,700 political leaders, business people and academic scholars to exchange ideas on the role Asian countries play in the global economy.
It is aimed at promoting the development goals of Asian countries through greater regional economic integration.
National leaders that have set foot in the city of Boao include Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and former US President George W. Bush.
